Empress Gifty’s Legal Team Demands Apology from Agradaa Over Defamation Claims

Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty is taking legal action against controversial evangelist Nana Agradaa (Evangelist Patricia Asiedu) over alleged defamatory remarks.

Lawyers for the musician have served Agradaa a formal notice demanding a public apology and retraction for referring to Empress Gifty’s lawyer as a “so-called lawyer” in a viral video. The video reportedly showed Agradaa mocking and questioning the lawyer’s credentials after their court appearance, using what the legal team described as “abusive language.”

In the demand letter, signed by Patrick Tawiah-Amprofi of Tawiah-Amprofi & Associates, the legal team stated:

“Your reference to him as a ‘so-called lawyer’ is derogatory and defamatory to both his person and this law firm. We therefore demand that you retract and apologise using the same medium within seven days.”

The letter also warned that failure to comply will result in legal action.

This development follows the Tema High Court’s rejection of Agradaa’s motion to strike out Empress Gifty’s GH¢20 million defamation suit. The court also fined Agradaa GH¢6,000 for delays caused by her lawyer’s absence during earlier proceedings.
