On Wednesday, Louise Redknapp shared a heartfelt message to mark the sad passing of esteemed theatre producer Bill Kenwright CBE. Taking to her Instagram, she posted a picture of herself as Sally Bowles in Cabaret from 2017, along with a touching black and white photo of Bill. In the image, she adorned a black bobbed wig and a top hat. In her caption, she expressed her sadness and gratitude: “I’m sad to hear the news of the passing of the great Bill Kenwright CBE [white love heart emoji].”
Louise went on to express her deep appreciation for Bill, who provided her with her first theater role. She recalled the rigorous audition process and how Bill granted her the opportunity to play Miss Sally Bowles in Cabaret, a role that kick-started her musical theater career. Louise’s portrayal of Sally Bowles marked the beginning of her successful journey in musical theater, leading to subsequent roles in productions like “9-5” and “Fatal Attraction.” She most recently took on the role of Teen Angel in “Grease” at the Dominion Theatre earlier this year.
In addition to her stage performances, Louise made a comeback to her pop career this year, signing with BMG and releasing a greatest hits album.
