Prominent Ghanaian journalist and broadcaster Bridget Otoo has been appointed as a Presidential Staffer under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

While the specifics of her role are yet to be disclosed, it’s expected that Bridget will bring her wealth of experience in journalism and media to help shape government communication strategies and strengthen public engagement.

Bridget Otoo is known for her bold commentary on national issues and was notably active in the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protests, where she voiced concerns about economic hardship and government accountability. She is also an outspoken advocate for LGBTQI+ rights, a stance that has sparked nationwide conversations.

Her new appointment is seen as a move towards inclusive governance and progressive public communication. As a presidential staffer, she’s likely to be involved in media strategy, messaging, public relations, and possibly serving as a liaison between the presidency and the media.

Otoo’s career has spanned several top media houses in Ghana, where she’s built a reputation as a fearless and articulate voice. Her transition into government marks a new chapter in her mission to impact Ghanaian society through advocacy, communication, and leadership.
