Two individuals have been arrested for allegedly attempting to manipulate school placements for multiple students and engaging in bribery within Ghana’s school placement system. The final 20 living hostages held by Hamas in Gaza have returned to Israel after more than two years in captivity, the Israeli military has confirmed. The hostages were abducted during Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attacks and include twin brothers Ziv and Gali Berman, as well as Omri Miran who was seen reuniting with his wife, Lishay, in an emotional moment captured on camera. At least 15 people have died, and six others have been hospitalized after a canoe carrying mourners capsized on the Oti River near Kete Krachi in the Oti Region. The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources says the Office of the Attorney-General is prosecuting nearly 1,500 cases of illegal mining across the country, with the cases currently at various stages of trial. An Assistant District Planning Officer with the Yunyoo-Nasuan District Assembly in the North East Region was shot and killed by unknown armed robbers on Friday morning, October 10, 2025.
