Ghanaian musician Arathejay has opened up about his decision to reveal his face in his music productions after initially choosing to remain anonymous.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio, Arathejay explained that while he still believes music should focus more on message than image, visuals play an important role in connecting with audiences.

“Initially, I didn’t want anybody to see me, but after discussions with my team, I realized there has to be an image to complement the songs,” he said.

The artist revealed that his initial anonymity was intentional, aiming to ensure fans concentrated on his lyrics rather than his appearance. “It’s about what I have to say; I wanted the focus to be on the message,” he explained.

Though Arathejay now occasionally shows his face, he said he still maintains some level of mystery through his signature style. “I take it off sometimes, but without it, you might not recognize me in public,” he added.

His evolution signals a balance between preserving his artistic identity and building a stronger visual connection with his audience.
