The ongoing family and legal dispute surrounding the late highlife icon, Daddy Lumba, has intensified as his elder sister, Akosua Brempomaah, has reportedly lodged a complaint against their uncle, Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, at the Kumasi Central Police Station.
According to a report by Grace TV, shared on the TikTok page Koforidua Flowers, the complaint stems from the alleged disappearance and suspected misuse of funds from the musician’s funeral account.
On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Madam Ernestina Fosuh, accompanied by hiplife-turned-evangelist Papa Shee and other family members visited the police station to report the matter. Their concern centers on a signed cheque believed to have enabled a substantial withdrawal from the funeral account. Ms. Fosuh reportedly fears the money may have been intended for a billboard advertisement for the upcoming funeral.
She considers this an inappropriate use of funds, especially as the funeral date remains unconfirmed due to an ongoing court case over Daddy Lumba’s marital status and estate.
The funeral account, originally created ahead of the musician’s one-week observance, was managed by the now-dissolved funeral committee chaired by Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu.
This is not the first financial controversy involving the account. Earlier, the family head admitted publicly to withdrawing GH¢30,000 to cover hotel expenses during his stay in Accra, an action that sparked widespread agitation within the family.
The latest police complaint filed by Ernestina Fosuh underscores the deepening internal rifts as the family navigates the legal and administrative complexities following the highlife legend’s death. The investigation is expected to probe the authorization, purpose, and legitimacy of the recent withdrawal.
