Ghanaian singer Kuami Eugene has revealed that cutting off his signature hairstyle symbolizes a fresh start in his music career following his departure from Lynx Entertainment. In an interview with Doreen Avio, he explained the new look reflects his transition from “Lynx boy” to an independent artiste.
Kuami shared that plans to leave Lynx were already underway when he released Monica, and by the time Belinda dropped, he was no longer with the label. He expressed gratitude for his eight-year journey with Lynx but is now focused on personal growth.
He also addressed both the support and criticism following his exit, including praise from A Plus, who believes Kuami’s talent can take him far independently. Responding to earlier remarks by rapper Guru, who predicted he would flop after leaving Lynx, Kuami diplomatically noted that Guru now holds a student leadership role and chose not to engage further.
Kuami Eugene rose to fame after winning MTN Hitmaker in 2016 and has since become a celebrated figure in Ghana’s music industry, known for hits like Angela and Wish Me Well. Fans are now eager to see his evolution as an independent artiste.
