Ghanaian rapper Amerado has addressed growing complaints from event organizers abroad who claim local artistes charge excessively high fees for international performances. These organizers argue that the costs leave them with little to no profit, urging musicians to be more considerate.

Speaking in an interview with blogger ZionFelix monitored by yocharley.com, Amerado pushed back, asking promoters to also consider the treatment artistes receive in return. He revealed that many performers are often mistreated, and in some cases, not even paid after fulfilling their end of the deal.

“There are organisers who don’t even pay us after reaching an agreement,” Amerado said, recalling how, earlier in his career, he performed at overseas events without receiving any payment.

While acknowledging the financial concerns of promoters, the Abronoma rapper insisted that not all artistes charge exorbitant fees. He shared that he’s accepted as little as £300 for a show, depending on the rapport he has with the organiser.

Amerado ultimately called for mutual respect and transparency, emphasizing the need for fair and open conversations between artistes and event organizers to ensure both parties benefit and feel valued.
