“I’m Not Done Yet” — Fantana Explains Break from Music to Realign with Purpose

Ghanaian singer Fantana has spoken out about her noticeable absence from the music scene, clarifying that she hasn’t quit music — she’s simply on a purposeful break to rediscover herself and evolve artistically.

In a candid interview on Starr FM, the “Rich Gyal Anthem” hitmaker shared that her decision to step back is intentional, allowing her to grow and return with music that reflects her true self.

“I haven’t quit music fully. I just needed time to find myself. I don’t want to sing just anything, I want my music to be meaningful and relatable,” she explained.

Fantana expressed a desire to move away from chasing trends or creating songs that don’t align with her identity. Instead, she hopes to produce music that forms genuine connections with her audience through thoughtful, intentional storytelling.

She praised Black Sherif for being a strong voice in that direction, applauding his raw, honest approach to music as an inspiration and a sign of positive change in the Ghanaian music industry.

Touching on the subject of awards, Fantana questioned the industry’s overemphasis on accolades. She argued that an artiste’s value and legacy should not be measured solely by the number of trophies they’ve won, but by the impact of their work and authenticity.

As fans await her next move, Fantana’s message is clear — she’s not gone, just taking time to return stronger, with music that truly reflects who she is.
