Davido Withdraws from Tottenham Stadium Concert

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has pulled out of the upcoming concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. He was originally scheduled to perform alongside 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige on July 3, 2025.

    Announcement Made via Instagram

Davido made the announcement on Saturday through his Instagram Story. In a brief statement, he confirmed he would no longer be part of the highly anticipated event.

“Due to unresolved issues with the organizers, I will not be performing at the July 3rd concert,” he said.

    Concerns Over Integrity and Treatment

Davido explained that the decision followed ongoing issues with the event organizers, Iconic Presents. According to him, they failed to meet several key requirements essential for a performance that reflects his standards.

“They could not guarantee the integrity and quality expected of my set,” he noted.

Beyond logistics, Davido hinted at deeper concerns. He suggested that African artists often face unfair treatment on international stages. In his words:

    “Africa must be respected.”

This comment sparked conversation online, with many fans applauding him for taking a stand.

    Reassures Fans with Summer Return

Despite the setback, Davido assured fans in the UK that he would be back soon. He confirmed that London remains part of the European leg of his 5 Alive tour, set to continue throughout the summer.

“This isn’t goodbye,” he wrote. “I’ll see you all in London soon!”

    Show Will Go On—Without Davido

Though Davido has withdrawn, the concert itself is still scheduled to proceed. Both 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige are expected to headline as planned.

Fans expressed mixed reactions online—some disappointed, others supportive of Davido’s stance on artist respect and performance quality.
