The President John Dramani has pardoned the defaulting media houses sanctioned by the National Communications Authority (NCA) for regulatory breeches such as failing to renew their licenses, operating without valid authorization, exceeding permitted transmission, and failure to pay licensing fees.

Sam George the communications minister announced that the recently shut down stations by the NCA have been granted 30 days amend all their errors. Highlighting that if they do not act in accordance they have to shut them down once more. Sam George made point that the proceedings are based on facts and not biases, being all actions taken are in line with the law.

In a Facebook post the Minister said: “The President has asked that the National Communications Authority ,Ghana, show clemency to the defaulting media houses. We have complied and issued a 30 day grace period”.

The President and his administration are handling the issues in the country and we commend them on their managerial skills. The companies involved are now serving as escaped goats deterring other media houses from following suit. The 30 day grace period also shows their effort to understand and forgive some mistakes.
