Nigerian music icon 2Face Idibia, also known as 2Baba, has publicly apologized to his wife, Natasha Idibia, following backlash over controversial comments he made during a recent podcast appearance.

In a now-viral episode of the Mzansi Podcast with media personality Nedu, 2Face claimed that he believes no man can remain sexually committed to just one woman—citing biological instincts as the reason. His comments triggered intense reactions online, with fans, gender rights advocates, and celebrities calling them misogynistic, tone-deaf, and reckless—especially from someone with a large following and cultural influence.

Facing mounting criticism, 2Face took to his Instagram page to issue a heartfelt apology via video. He admitted that he had “messed up” and fully expected to be held accountable.

“I know I messed up with what I said, and I know I’m going to get cancelled because of it. I know I’m going to pay a heavy price,” he confessed.

The “African Queen” hitmaker expressed deep regret for any pain his comments may have caused, particularly to his wife Natasha, his family, and fans who look up to him.

He clarified that his intention wasn’t to justify infidelity but to share his personal view on male behaviour—though he now realizes it was poorly communicated and inappropriate.

“I said what I said because I wanted people to get my understanding. However, there’s no excuse for those comments. I take full responsibility for my words and I am sorry for disappointing the millions of people who look up to me,” he added.

The apology has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans praising his accountability, while others urged him to be more careful with his words in the future.
