Ghanaian actress and producer Matilda Asare has reached a major milestone—she has officially graduated with a Master’s Degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The graduation ceremony, held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at KNUST’s Kumasi campus, was a proud moment for the Kumawood star, who reflected on the challenges she faced along her academic journey.
Matilda revealed that she first earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource and Management from Baptist University College in 2011, while simultaneously pursuing a busy acting career. However, work, family life, and raising children led her to pause her education multiple times.
“I never gave up on going back to complete what I started,” she said.
Her return to academia was motivated by her transition into film production, and a desire to sharpen her management skills for the next phase of her career.
“I felt it was necessary to learn more about management and other things because I’m now moving into producing movies,” she added.
The event was graced by notable industry figures such as Rev. Samuel Nyamekye (Miracle Films), Apostle John Prah, and Director Jones Agyeman, who came out to support her achievement.
Matilda’s success reflects a broader movement among Ghanaian creatives choosing to enhance their skills through education. Artists like Van Vicker, Jackie Appiah, Samini, Amerado, and Guru have also pursued higher learning while staying active in the entertainment world.
This inspiring trend shows how education is becoming a vital tool for building sustainable careers, taking on leadership roles, and shaping the future of Ghana’s creative industry.
