Award-winning Ghanaian musician Black Sherif is under fire after showing up nearly 10 hours late to a highly anticipated concert in Takoradi.
The event, scheduled to begin at 7 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, left fans waiting through the night. Black Sherif reportedly arrived around 5 AM on Sunday, disappointing thousands who had gathered hours earlier to see him perform live.
Many fans had travelled long distances for the show, hoping to witness the artist in person for the first time. However, their excitement quickly turned to frustration as the night dragged on with no sign of the headliner. When Black Sherif finally appeared, his brief 30-minute performance sparked anger among the crowd.
Eyewitnesses say attendees pelted him with sachet water in protest, clearly expressing their disappointment with how the night unfolded.
The incident has triggered widespread debate on social media. While some fans blame Black Sherif directly for the delay, others point fingers at the organizers for poor time management and lack of communication.
“This is unfair to the fans,” one user tweeted. “We love Blacko, but this was disrespectful.”
Others defended the artist, suggesting logistical issues or poor planning may have played a role. The event organizers have yet to release an official statement addressing the situation.
Despite the backlash, some supporters continue to rally behind Black Sherif, urging the public to wait for his side of the story.
