The Philadelphia 76ers have chosen to retain Paul George, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey after trade attempt failed. The franchise retaining them means a lot for the regular season approaching once again.
Many were outraged on social media that Paul George wasn’t going to traded to the Utah Jazz since his performance this season has been on an all-time low, and he has been injured a lot of times during the regular season.
A few fans were excited when they heard Tyrese Maxey was being retained and couldn’t think of any possible reason why the franchise would want to trade him given his performance and work, he put into this season. His clutch 3s have saved the team in many matches this season.
Joel Embiid being traded was wonderful news to fans because of his lazy performance throughout the whole season. He was expected to take over this season and win a championship, but he dealt with a bad knee injury.
The team are giving the trio another chance to win an NBA championship. Since they ended up at 13th they have the chance to get the No 3 and No 35 lottery pick in the NBA draft this year which could hopefully earn them names like VJ Edgecomb, Ace Bailey, Dylan Harper.
Ace Bailey was set to meet the 76ers this week for a pre-draft workout but declined saying he was seeking a promise from the 76ers before agreeing to a meeting. We are unsure what the promise is but Ace appears to be the only US based prospect yet to visit any clubs.
The decision to retain them is a great one and if they are able to get a great prospect, they will be able to win the championship next season.
And if Embiid manages to stay healthy the team will go far, Jared is also set to come back next season so it might be the 76ers time to shine.
