Ghanaian music star Black Sherif suffered a minor injury during a live performance at the University of Ghana’s Diaspora Dome on Friday, June 14, 2025, after an overexcited fan stormed the stage mid-performance.

The incident occurred while the award-winning artiste was thrilling a packed audience with one of his chart-topping hits. Midway through his set, a fan—later identified as Agbovi—breached security and rushed onto the stage in an apparent bid to join the performer.

Despite quick attempts by security personnel to restrain him, Black Sherif, in a show of goodwill, signaled for the fan to remain momentarily and dance alongside him. However, the situation quickly spiraled when Agbovi unexpectedly clung onto the artiste, causing him to stumble and nearly topple into the crowd.

Security quickly intervened to remove the fan, but not before the interaction left Black Sherif visibly shaken. Moments later, addressing the crowd, the musician revealed that he had sustained a cut to his lip during the encounter.

“Hey, Agbovi cut my lip,” he announced to the audience, briefly halting the performance. Undeterred, the “Kweku the Traveller” hitmaker regained composure and continued his set, much to the delight of his cheering fans.

The concert resumed smoothly and reached new heights when fellow rap heavyweight Sarkodie joined Black Sherif on stage for an energetic joint performance.

The incident has sparked renewed conversation around the safety protocols at major live events, highlighting the delicate balance between fan engagement and performer security.
