Ghana is facing a concerning rise in Mpox (formally known as Monkey Pox) cases, with the Ghana Health Service confirming 34 new infections as of June 11, 2025. This surge brings the total number of confirmed cases to 79, prompting health officials to intensify monitoring and response efforts across the country.

The new cases span 10 regions, highlighting the widespread nature of the outbreak. Currently, four patients are hospitalized, but no fatalities have been reported. Health authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant, practice good hygiene, and seek medical attention if symptoms arise.

As the nation grapples with this health challenge, the government is working closely with health organizations to implement preventive measures and educate communities about Mpox. The situation underscores the importance of public health awareness and the need for collective action to curb the spread of the virus.

In light of these developments, Ghanaians are encouraged to stay informed and adhere to health guidelines to protect themselves and their communities.
