In his most recent Black Stars call-up, Ghanaian captain Andre Dede Ayew responded as follows after coach Otto Addo once again passed him over. According to his former teammate’s account…
Some Ghanaians anticipated that Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew would rejoin the senior national team after scoring four goals this season, but he was once again left off of coach Otto Addo’s 23-man roster on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Many have since questioned whether his days as a vital member of the team are truly over. The coach revealed that Ayew didn’t agree to his exclusion when he was first left out of Ghana’s squad to play Mali and the Central African Republic in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in May 2024.
And some Ghanaians are curious to know his response after he was passed over for yet another round of World Cup qualifying.
In an interview with Connect FM, former Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu answered these questions.
He claims that Ayew doesn’t care that he was dropped for the fourth time in a row.
The Le Havre forward is not upset about his exclusion from the squad, according to Agyemang-Badu, who said he spoke with Ayew following the squad announcement.
“I spoke to Dede Ayew, and he is not worried”
The former football player emphasized that even though Ayew’s recent performance for his team has improved, players and the general public should respect head coach Otto Addo’s decision to bench him.
“We all know that player selection for the Black Stars is based on performance. Dede is delivering, but we must respect the coach’s choice”.
Ayew had reaffirmed his dedication to the national team and stated that he had no immediate plans to retire prior to the squad announcement.
