Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb sustained a knee injury during his team’s Monday Night Football match against the Pittsburgh Steelers, necessitating his removal from the field in the second quarter.

The incident occurred during a first and goal run from the 8-yard line when Chubb carried the ball for a 5-yard gain but was tackled awkwardly on the knee by Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. The impact was significant, prompting an audible groan from the crowd as a replay of the incident was displayed on the video board at Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium.

ABC, the broadcaster of the game, chose not to air a replay of the injury. Commentator Troy Aikman described the injury as “as bad as you can imagine.”

In a display of sportsmanship, rival Steelers fans at the stadium gave Chubb a warm round of applause as he was transported off the field on a medical cart. Fitzpatrick, despite being shaken up on the play, continued to participate in the game.

The Browns promptly announced that Chubb would be sidelined for the remainder of the game, although the precise severity of his injury remains uncertain.
